The mission of the school health program is to provide a safe and healthy environment so all students can learn at their optimal level, and to encourage healthy lifestyles at all ages.
If your child has a health problem, the school nurse will work closely with you to develop a plan to address the health concerns.

FREE flu shots to all students (18 y/o and under). The date is set for 12-12-12 at 9 AM.
The Vaccine for Children program has an overage of flu vaccine. The Osage County Health Department has an unexpected opportunity to pass on the vaccine to school aged children. The details from the local health department are as follows:

$20 donations will be accepted but are not required. If children have Medicaid, we need their Medicaid number. We will alsoneed students categorized by if they are Medicaid, no insurance, underinsured, or fully insured. We will send out forms for them to take home for their parents to review and fill out in order to receive a vaccination.I will wait to send those out until about 2weeks before the actualclinic (we have to give the flu shot within 10 days of when it was signed). We will be offering both the regular flu shot and the nasal mist flu vaccine. For children under 8 y/o they will need to get a 2nd dose, 4 weeks after the 1st dose, if they have not had 2 previous flu vaccinations. They will have to come to the health department (Linn) to receive this 2nd dose.
Please email Wanda Rehagen at rehagenw@fatimacomets.org Put “Flu Vaccine” in subject line and I’ll make sure I get a consent form to your child. In the body of the email indicate which vaccine you’d prefer-shot or nasal. Please pass the word to any elementary parent as I don’t have a email distribution list for them. The date is tentatively set for 12-12-12.
To any parent who was told Fatima was not having a flu clinic this year-I apologize. I didn’t see this coming but I appreciate the Health Department’s effort to pass on a benefit to schools. Please check out the information sheet about the flu shot and the nasal flu vaccine so that you can decide which you’d prefer.
