Book Club
Book Club is an organization of readers that meet to discuss books on the Gateway list. Book club meetings are held before school and after school. Snacks are served during these meetings. The co-sponsors of Book Club are Mrs. Sharon Breese and Mrs. Kathy Rolwes. Those who participate in Book Club will earn 20 bonus points for their English classes if the student takes an active part in the meeting's discussion and brings the 4x6 index card with him/her. The requirements for the card are explained below.The student is responsible for checking out the book of choice for each term he/she participates in. There are only 10 copies of each book available so please make sure to check out the book in advance and return it as soon as possible for the next person to read.

Requirements for Book Club Cards
The following must be written on a 4x6 index card and completed before coming to the discussion:
- Name
- English teacher’s name
- Five thought-and discussion-provoking questions on the front of the card. Yes/no questions or one word response questions will not earn bonus points!
- During the last five minutes, a detailed response to the discussion will be written on the back of the card
- The card will be returned to the student’s English teacher for the awarding of points.
You must participate in the discussion to earn the points!
